Curling

The Dundee Ice Arena currently offer curling two days per week which is Monday & Tuesday. Ice is available for curling purposes as per the timetable. Please contact the ice arena for availability of the ice.

Curling is a sport of fitness and finesse enjoyed by well over 1 million people around the world. It is played for recreation and competitive satisfaction by men, women, juniors and seniors alike from 6 years to 90 years. Great skills demand practice, but from the start beginners can make good shots and have fun at the sport. Competitive curling is more complex and requires athletic fitness, advanced skills and finesse shots. The throwing of a stone does not require a great deal of strength. A good technique with balance and co-ordination can be achieved with practice and result in a smooth and effective delivery. Sweeping plays an important part in the game- it also helps keep you warm.
